Since 5 October 2026, almost all visitors need Kenyan mandatory health insurance. It costs up to 44 US dollars per person and is valid for up to 3 months. Your own travel insurance does not replace it. More about entry
On top of that comes the online entry permit (eTA) for 30 US dollars.

Is this a normal travel guide?
No. It isn’t about sights. It’s about how to plan your trip yourself and react the right way while you’re out and about.
Why are there both a guide and a Kompass?
Because planning and reacting are two different things. The guide helps you before the trip. The Kompass helps you when something goes wrong along the way.
Does it replace travel insurance or a doctor?
No. You find out what you can do and whom to call. It does not replace insurance or a doctor.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Load the files onto your phone before you leave. Also print out the Notfall-Karte and keep it separate from your phone.
How up to date is it?
Every file has a date. Check rules and fees on the official websites shortly before your trip. There is no guarantee that lasts forever.
Do I get personal help via WhatsApp?
No. You get the files, not personal advice or bookings.
Is it worth it if I’ve already been to Kenya?
Yes, if you want an up-to-date reference for entry, money, safety and emergencies. Some of it you’ll already know.
Can the set guarantee that nothing will happen?
